I missed February’s status update since I was in Providence at StokerCon 2018, but here is the status of my 2018 writing commitments:

As of today, I’ve kept up with my submission goals for January and February. Back in January, I submitted my short story “The Underdog” for publication in Foreshadow magazine, and for February I sent out a three-page flash fiction story for an anonymous flash fiction contest…I’d better not say what the story was about just yet, since the guidelines requested anonymity. However, I will mention that Grady Hendrix told me the story reminded him of early Stephen King, circa Skeleton Crew–which may have made me squeal with excitement.

With the end of March around the corner, I’m busy polishing up my short story for the Horror Writers Association’s “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” anthology. Again this is an anonymous submission so I won’t drop any spoilers here, but the featured picture is a somewhat cryptic hint.

I must say that the original Alvin Schwartz anthologies were what started me off in reading horror literature, so I’m beside myself with excitement at the thought of contributing to an all-new collection. Fingers crossed…or maybe your toes…WHERE’S MY TOE????!!!!

Better get back to writing! See you in April
